Well, I've decided to document my experiences here in Japan and try to share with the big wide world my little slice of this place I, for now, call home. I've been here since May, 2008. I live in Tochigi prefecture which is part of the Kanto region. It's north and east of Tokyo sandwiched in between Ibaraki , Saitama and Gunma prefectures. I was able to find work quickly in Utsunomiya which is the capital of Tochigi. I work for english school Geos in the Kids division. If you didn't know, Geos filed bankruptcy back in April. Many of the adult schools were closed. But, the kids side is soldiering on as we are actually profitable or so I'm told. So far it's business as usual. G-comm/G-edu is the company that took control of Geos and is the same company that now controls NOVA. I'm gonna hang around for while longer and take my chances.
